At Sail Squad, we run a full programme of RYA training courses, boat handling sessions, and milebuilding trips throughout the year. Whether you’re working towards your first qualification or preparing for Yachtmaster, our calendar shows the latest course dates and availability.

How to Book

  1. Choose a Course
    Review our course options and select the one that aligns with your experience and sailing goals. If you’re uncertain about which course is right for you, please contact us, and we would be happy to assist you.
  2. Check Available Dates
    Use the course calendar to find out when your chosen course is taking place and which dates still have available spaces.
  3. Create Your Booking
    Select your course and date, then enter your details. You can add multiple items to the same booking, such as a single occupancy supplement or a split weekend course.
  4. Confirm and Pay
    Complete your booking securely online to reserve your place.

It depends on the course. The Competent Crew course is designed for complete beginners, while the Day Skipper course and above require some prior experience. You can find the specific prerequisites outlined in each course description.

All courses begin and end at our base in Port Hamble Marina. We will email you full joining instructions, including travel details and what to bring, before your course starts.

We keep groups small, typically 4-5 students per yacht, so you receive plenty of personal instruction and hands-on experience.

We’ll send a full kit list with your joining instructions, but essentials include non-marking deck shoes, warm layers, and waterproofs. Lifejackets and safety gear are provided.
